The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, was filled with pride as he welcomed the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Mycological Society of Nigeria (MYCOSON) from the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) to his office. The Committee members were there to officially invite him as the Guest of Honor for their upcoming conference.
The conference, which is set to bring together experts from around the world, will focus on the theme “The Role of FUNGI IN THE AMELIORATION OF BIO-ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGE AND REJUVENATION OF GLOBAL ECONOMY.” Discussions will include the impact of fungi on various aspects such as healthcare, food security, nanotechnology, and more.
Among the esteemed Committee members present during the meeting were Prof. Hadi Suberu, Director of Academic Planning at FUL, Prof. Alhassan, Head of Microbiology Department, Prof. (Mrs) Ade Lawal from the Botany Department, Dr. Abdullateef from the Microbiology Department, and Mr. Audu Nasir Opisa from the Botany Department.
The Honorable Commissioner expressed his pleasure at being invited to such a prestigious event and promised to support the conference in any way he could. He commended the efforts of the MYCOSON LOC Committee and emphasized the importance of furthering research in the field of mycology.
