The pleasure is mine to have a tete-a-tete with you through this platform. Please, be informed of a mentoring series on career, marriage, spiritual, ministry, economic/finance, academic, business and mental excellence I’ll be teaching via various media and platforms. This is aimed at espousing relevant tips for all round breakthroughs in life.
Those who truly knows me are aware I take pleasure in people’s advancement, progress and success in life. I rejoice in people’s progress and virtually have no ill feelings towards the advancement of men. I’m not perfect yet though, but I celebrate good things with a large heart of goodwill towards people. This is always my delight. So, I usually don’t hide any secrets I know will advance people to greatness. My philosophy of success in life is positively influencing and making impacts on people’s life. Success and greatness to me is not in material acquisition, but in impacts and positive influence.
My joy is always full when I see people come around me and eat from my table. When I’m able to meet their needs, solve their problems and put smiles on their faces. And I’m happy I have a partner who complements this philosophy without grudges. Praise God!
Today, we are looking at spiritual mentoring leading to spiritual empowerment. Let’s take a look at salient points that can make a man spiritually audacious and a spiritual authority. Luke 10:19a says: “Behold, I give unto you power…” Power in Greek word is “Dunamis”, meaning potential, ability, strength.
It is impossible to become a spiritual authority without power. ie ability to do, be in command and take dominion. Please, know this that in every environment/location, etc, there are principalities, powers, spirits and forces that holds sway as rulers of the domain in the realm of the spirit. If you don’t conquer them, they may hold you to ransom and continous captivity. This is the reason some people stop making progress as soon as they abode in certain locations where principalities and rulers of darkness have the rule.
KEYS TO SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT & DOMINANCE:
- Genuine Salvation Encounter: God cannot empower whom He does not know or have relationship with. Sinful lifestyles are products of carnality and adamic natures that builds barrier between God and man. Having and watching pornography videos on phone, laptop, television, etc, as a Christian is nothing, but sin. Masturbation is sin. Wearing seductive dresses and dressing half naked is sin. Taking palmwine or wine with a one percent alcohol is still sin. Fornication and adultery are proven sins. There’s nothing like a little lie. Telling lies is sin. Gossip, malice are all sins. Galatians 5:19-21 says those guilty of such and the likes cannot inherit the kingdom of God. If you trend with the world in order to socialize, you will be cut off from God. Genuine salvation is the first key to spiritual growth, empowerment and dominance. So, always walk in the light (Matthew 5:14)
- Holiness as a Lifestyle: Holiness have zero tolerance to sinful natures and lifestyles. God said: “Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). Holiness means walking daily conscious of sin. Those whom God genuinely uses are those who walk in holiness.
- Prayer Fervency: It is practically impossible to be empowered spiritually and take dominion without being fervent in the spirit. This is only possible when you are a fervent prayer warrior. Check whom God uses mightily and you’ll see fire in their prayer altar. Leviticus 6:13 says: “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out”. John Knox’s major prayer request is, “Lord, give me Scotland or I die”. Of course, God eventually gave him Scotland to harvest. The Azuza fire revival in USA where fire was practically seen on roofs of buildings was as a result of the corporate prayers of a group of Christian who yearned desperately for a revival in USA. At the arrival of fire service men to extinguish the fire, it would disappear again. It was a practical spiritual fire on roofs. I read about Apst Joseph Ayo Babalola that he prayed to the points that he travels in the spirit and flies to his revival meetings without entering an aeroplane or a car. Baba Abiye in Ede, Prophet Samson Akande once requested that the dead body of his son who was involved in a ghastly accident be packaged and brought back to him at Ede in the present Osun State. As soon as the dead body was laid before him, he slept and stretched over him and commanded his disjointed bones, broken head and brain to come back to positions. Instantly, there was a rattling of bones joining back to positions, brain remoulding itself by the power of the Holy Ghost and the dead son jerked back to life. This is reminiscent of the scenarios of Ezekiel 37. Prophet Gabriel Oyelami commanded an appearance of money to pay his Ibadan church creditors. Instantly, a “Ghana-Must-Go” bag containing about #300,000 fell from heaven and the debt was paid. My father, Prophet Segun Adebayo prayed to a point on a certain day on the mountain that he practically encountered an angel on his way back home along the bush path. Few minutes later, someone he never knew drove a new car he just brought and handed it over to him as a gift at the point he stood stranded and thinking of how to return from Ekiti to his Lagos base. According to him, the encounter with the angel in the bush marked the beginning of his breakthroughs in life and ministry till today and forever, because the angel told him: “Lati oni lo, o jiya mo” (Meaning, you will not suffer again henceforth). You want proofs in life and ministry? Pray, pray, pray. If prayer is not giving desired results, add fasting (Matthew 17:21). I got the mandate of my call into ministry when I was in a dry fast and prayer. Again, when the church eventually started, I was in a dry fast and prayer. So, the Almighty have been at the foundation, the Alpha and Omega of our ministries and commission.
- Be a Devoted Student of The Word: Why should a Christian not read his bible, but prefers to put it under his pillow as a weapon to fight witches when he’s asleep? How can a serious-minded Christian not become a good student of the word of God? What weapon and declarations would he utter when face to face with any trials or temptations? The best way to use the word is to read it often, meditate on it, believe it and declare it. Satan may not respect your prayers, but he respects the word. He hates to hear you say, “It is written…” when you are praying (Luke 4:4). The Word of God is a fire and hammer (Jeremiah 23:29). It is a two-edged sword that have capability to tear any situations into pieces and render them useless (Hebrews 4:12). Read your Bible daily and often.
- Worship as a Lifestyle: Those who understands the power of worship and praise often develops deeper intimacy with God. The bible confirms God is a Spirit and those who desires a connection with Him must worship in Spirit and truth (John 4:24). Under an atmosphere of worship and praise, the unimaginable happens (2 Chronicles:20:22-25). So, take up the weapons of worship and praise to build up your spirituality and deeper relationship with Abba.
- Praying Always in The Holy Ghost: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 20). Those who speaks genuinely in tongues speak mysteries and enjoys a direct access and conversation with God without the assistance of angels as intermediaries (1 Corinthians 14:2). There’s a limit in operations for a Christian who cannot speak in tongues. So, always seek fresh Holy Ghost baptism to be able to speak with new tongues for daily effective Christian life.
- Operate in Great Faith: Faith is not enough, great faith is better (Matthew 8:10). If you don’t master how to operate in great faith, every news will scare you, and every challenge will defeat you. It is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). The victory that overcomes oppositions, trials, challenges and the world is faith (1 John 5:4). How do you walk in faith to grow your spirituality? Pray often; read the scriptures daily; meditate on the scriptures; believe the scriptures; declare and prophesy the scriptures often. This habit will grow up your faith.
Please, take note of each points and do the practical. The result will affect your spirituality upwardly and exponentially.
