Ife East chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party under the leadership of Hon. Makinde Sunkanmi Benco, has thrown its support behind the incumbent governor of Osun State, Senator (Dr) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for a second term. This endorsement was done at the empowerment programme organised by the Special Adveser to the governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Hon. Bamikole Omishore, who hails from Ile-Ife.
During the event, Hon. Omishore distributed essential items such as rice, semovita, tomato paste and provided cash donations to women, youths and party leaders across all ten wards in Ife East local government including the area office in Modakeke.
Addressing the beneficiaries and members of the party at the event, Hon. Omishore emphasised the importance of giving back to society, adding that it became expedient to follow the directive of Gov Ademola Adeleke for aides to support their constituencies. Hon. Omishore expressed his commitment to empowering youth and the unemployed through skill acquisition programmes to foster economic self-reliance.
While addressing the gathering, Hon. Omishore also stressed further that he is passionate about the people at the grassroot and his dedication to societal development. He lamented the plight of unemployed youth in Osun State and outlined plans to implement empowerment initiatives, emphasising that his actions were driven by a desire to uplift his people out of poverty and not for political reason.
Hon. Bamikole Banks Omishore was flanked by the Special Adviser to the governor on Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing program (RAAM), Hon. Moji Omisore and received a warm welcome from the Chairman of the Governing Council of Osun State University, Professor Adewale A. Oladipo.
Special appreciation goes to the party officials including the PDP chairman of Ife East area office in Modakeke, Hon. Dele Onigbinde well as local government and ward executives and the PDP Chairman of Ife East local government, Hon. Makinde Sunkanmi Benco. Hon Haruna Odunyemi Bukola, the Ife East local government council Caretaker chairman and other PDP leaders were also acknowledged for their support and efforts in welcoming Hon. Bankole Omisore into the PDP Ife East local government fold.
